Jane Elinor Charameda, 92, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
She was born November 25, 1917, the daughter of Leroy E. and Lucile (Weed) Yager in Battle Creek.
Jane worked for Sullivan Dairy until it closed in 1970 and after that for Paul’s Market.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Charmeda in 1977 and grandson, Mark Moldenhauer. She is survived by her daughters, M. Annette (Tom) Ashley of Akeny, Iowa, Toni Moldenhauer of Wellington, Florida, Susanne (Rex) Porter of Franklin, Indiana; son, Robert “Bob” (Sandy) Charameda of Payton, Arizona; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister, Roberta Avery of San Marcos, California and several nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed summers at the lake, knitting crocheting, picking mushrooms and all sporting events. She especially enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Shaw Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Tran officiating. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial donations may go to Calhoun County Medical Care Facility (1150 E. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49014).
