Thomas William Snyder, 87, of Battle Creek died June 19, 2010 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Battle Creek.
He was born April 25, 1923, the son of Howard K. and Sara Snyder in Elmore, Alabama.
Tom graduated from Albion High School and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a bartender at the Athlestan Club for many years and later owned the Bellmens and Waiters Club in Battle Creek.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee (Atkinson) Snyder on March 31, 2002; his parents; two brothers and three sisters. Tom is survived by his son, Kossouth Snyder of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Nzinga Snyder, Tedros Snyder both of Baltimore, Maryland; great grandchildren, Sanaa and Santos Snyder of Baltimore; brother, Charles Snyder of Chelsea.
Graveside services with military honors will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may go to a charity of one’s choice.
