Irma Maxine Beard, 88, of Battle Creek, passed away June 29, 2010.
She was born July 15, 1921, the daughter of Oscar and Ida (Wells) Stevens in Vermontville.
Irma graduated from Charlotte High School and worked at Post Cereals for 33 years. She enjoyed spending winters with her husband in Odessa, Florida for 15 years.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Zack Beard in 2006; her parents and three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Suzette Francis of Battle Creek; son Zack C. (Cheryl) Beard, Jr. of Battle Creek and four grandsons.
She was a member of the Post Cereals 25 Year Club and enjoyed flower gardening, painting, walking and doing crossword puzzles.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Shaw Funeral Home with graveside services following at 3:00 p.m. at Beard Cemetery, Fulton, Michigan with Rev. Dr. James M. Gysel, Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, officiating.
Memorial donations may go to a charity of one’s choice.
